Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Unit Clerk, Ambulatory Care Specialist to join our team at PHSA. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and visitors, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage patient appointments and schedules, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is maintained in our computerized system.
  • Prepare and check patient charts, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Transcribe physicians' orders and other medical information, maintaining confidentiality and discretion at all times.
  • Compile and analyze statistical data, providing insights and recommendations to improve patient care and services.
  • Perform various administrative tasks, including typing, filing, and data entry, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from an approved Nursing Unit Clerk Program, plus one year's recent related experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, providing support and assistance as needed.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position, including standing, walking, and lifting.
  • Ability to operate a variety of computer software applications, including word processing and spreadsheet programs.
