Unit Clerk, Ambulatory Care Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Unit Clerk, Ambulatory Care Specialist to join our team at PHSA. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and visitors, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Manage patient appointments and schedules, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is maintained in our computerized system.
- Prepare and check patient charts, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
- Transcribe physicians' orders and other medical information, maintaining confidentiality and discretion at all times.
- Compile and analyze statistical data, providing insights and recommendations to improve patient care and services.
- Perform various administrative tasks, including typing, filing, and data entry, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Requirements
- Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from an approved Nursing Unit Clerk Program, plus one year's recent related experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a focus on providing excellent patient care.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, with a focus on maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- Ability to operate a variety of computer software applications, including our electronic health record system.
