Ambulatory Clinics Registration Clerk

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Ambulatory Clinics Registration Clerk to join our team at BC Women's Hospital. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for scheduling patient appointments, registering patients, and performing various administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Scheduling and Registration: Utilize a computerized scheduling system to schedule and book patient appointments, including complex interdisciplinary appointments, and ensure that all necessary information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Patient Registration: Receive and register patients upon arrival, ensuring that all necessary information is complete and accurate, and follow up with patients as necessary.
- Referral Functions: Perform referral functions, including gathering additional information, performing data entry, and receiving and processing related paperwork.
- Clerical Duties: Perform various clerical duties, including answering telephones, responding to inquiries, and greeting patients and families.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including patient charts and statistics.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Education: Grade 12, plus two (2) years' recent experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Skills: Ability to keyboard 45 w.p.m., knowledge of medical terminology, and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of healthcare systems and procedures, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
