Job Summary:

The Manitoba Metis Federation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research Manager to lead our research initiatives and projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing, planning, and implementing research projects that align with our strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage research projects, including setting project timelines, identifying research participants, conducting interviews, and analyzing data.
  • Facilitate partnerships and collaborations with government agencies, academic institutions, and other organizations to support and enhance research efforts.
  • Provide guidance and support to research staff and consultants, ensuring high-quality research standards and practices are maintained.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of databases, research files, and other documentation related to our research initiatives.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials to share research findings with stakeholders.
  • Identify potential funding opportunities and assist in the development of funding proposals.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in research management, preferably in a government, academic, or non-profit setting.
  • Experience in developing and implementing research projects, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Ability to manage and lead a team of researchers and consultants, and establish and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of research ethics and protocols, and experience working with Indigenous communities in culturally sensitive ways.
  • Knowledge of Red River Métis culture and MMF programs and services is an asset.
  • Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle.
