Position Overview:

The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) is seeking to appoint a full-time Research Program Manager within our Early Learning and Child Care Department. This role is pivotal in overseeing and managing research activities, analysis, and reporting on various Early Learning and Child Care matters, particularly focusing on qualitative research methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on a wide array of Early Childhood topics, assessing their implications for the enhancement of child care programs and services;
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders to gather, analyze, and interpret data through robust qualitative and mixed-method strategies;
  • Facilitate the collection and evaluation of data via surveys and consultation processes;
  • Provide insights on current issues and priorities relevant to the MMF by reviewing materials and creating supporting documentation;
  • Assist in drafting content for the Early Learning and Child Care Department;
  • Organize and manage personnel to meet the sector's objectives and project goals;
  • Participate in seminars and meetings pertinent to the assigned projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A Graduate Degree in Social Science, Social Services, Economics, or a related field, along with relevant experience;
  • A minimum of three years of experience in research or project management;
  • Preferred experience in negotiating and managing contracts;
  • Proficiency in report writing, proposal development, and policy analysis;
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications;
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and time management abilities;
  • Experience working with boards or committees is advantageous;
  • Familiarity with not-for-profit organizations and Indigenous communities is beneficial;
  • Knowledge of Red River Métis culture and MMF programs is a significant asset;
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to reliable transportation.
