Position Overview:

The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) serves as the democratically elected National Government representing the Red River Métis community.

We are looking to appoint a full-time Manager of Research Programs within our Early Learning and Child Care Department.

The Manager will oversee and facilitate the execution of research, analysis, and reporting on various Early Learning and Child Care topics, particularly focusing on qualitative research methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the examination and analysis of a wide array of Early Childhood matters, assessing their implications for the adaptation of child care programs and services;
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to gather, synthesize, and interpret data utilizing rigorous qualitative and mixed-method approaches;
  • Facilitate the collection and evaluation of data through surveys and consultation initiatives;
  • Prepare reports on current issues and priorities relevant to the MMF by reviewing materials and developing supporting documentation;
  • Contribute to writing efforts for the Early Learning and Child Care Department;
  • Organize and manage staff to meet the sector's objectives and project goals;
  • Participate in seminars and meetings pertinent to the assigned projects.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate Degree in Social Science, Social Services, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience;
  • A minimum of three years' experience in research or project management;
  • Preferred experience in negotiating and managing contracts;
  • Proficient in report writing, proposal development, and policy analysis;
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office;
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and time management abilities;
  • Experience in not-for-profit organizations and Indigenous communities is advantageous;
  • Familiarity with Red River Métis culture and MMF programs and services is a definite asset;
  • Willingness to travel, with a valid Manitoba Driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
