Manager of Research and Analysis in Child Care

Position Overview:
The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) is seeking to appoint a full-time Research Program Manager within our Early Learning and Child Care Department. This role is pivotal in overseeing and directing research, analysis, and reporting on various Early Learning and Child Care matters, particularly focusing on qualitative research methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on a wide array of Early Childhood topics, assessing their implications for the adaptation of child care programs and services;
- Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders to gather, synthesize, and interpret data utilizing robust qualitative and mixed-method approaches;
- Facilitate the collection and evaluation of data through surveys and consultation initiatives;
- Provide reports on pressing issues and priorities relevant to the MMF by reviewing materials and creating supporting documentation;
- Assist in drafting content for the Early Learning and Child Care Department;
- Organize and manage staff to meet the sector's objectives and project goals;
- Participate in seminars and meetings pertinent to the project(s).
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A Graduate Degree in Social Science, Social Services, Economics, or a related field, along with relevant experience;
- A minimum of three years' experience in research or project management;
- Preferred experience in negotiating and managing contracts;
- Proficiency in report writing, proposal development, and policy analysis;
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications;
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and time management abilities;
- Experience working with boards and/or committees is preferred;
- Background in not-for-profit organizations and Indigenous communities is an asset;
- Familiarity with Red River Métis culture and MMF programs is a significant advantage;
- Valid Manitoba Driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for travel.
