Position Overview:
The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) is the democratically elected National Government representing the Red River Métis, a unique Indigenous Nation and People. We are seeking to appoint one full-time Research Program Manager within our Early Learning and Child Care Department. This role involves overseeing and managing research activities, analysis, and reporting on various Early Learning and Child Care matters, particularly focusing on qualitative research methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and analysis on a wide array of Early Childhood topics, assessing their impact on the adaptation of child care programs and services;
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to gather, synthesize, and interpret data utilizing robust qualitative and mixed-method strategies;
- Facilitate the collection and evaluation of data through surveys and consultation processes;
- Prepare reports on significant issues and priorities relevant to the MMF, including the review of materials and the creation of supporting documentation;
- Contribute to writing initiatives for the Early Learning and Child Care Department;
- Organize and manage staff to meet the sector's objectives and project goals;
- Participate in seminars and meetings pertinent to the assigned projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A Graduate Degree in Social Science, Social Services, Economics, or a related field, along with relevant experience;
- A minimum of three years' experience in research or project management;
- Preferred experience in negotiating and managing contracts;
- Proficiency in report writing, proposal development, and policy analysis;
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications;
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and time management abilities;
- Experience working with boards and committees is an advantage;
- Familiarity with not-for-profit organizations and Indigenous communities is beneficial;
- Knowledge of Red River Métis culture and MMF programs is a significant asset;
- Willingness to travel, with a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
