Job Description:

The Territory Sales Development Manager plays a pivotal role in driving sales performance and total gross margin dollars for ALMAG Aluminum Corp. As part of the Executive Vice President's team, this position is responsible for overseeing the overall sales strategy within designated territories.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute a new business development plan to drive moderately complex needs in the territory
  2. Travel extensively within assigned areas to engage with prospects and customers
  3. Update the CRM system on a daily basis with valuable insights gathered from clients
  4. Collaborate closely with Inside Sales Representatives to coordinate sales and service activities
  5. Utilize consultative and value-added selling techniques to drive 'solution selling'
  6. Suggest extrusion design changes to improve extrudability, function, assembly, and price
  7. Qualify potential customers and provide actionable market trends and competitive information
  8. Participate actively in goal setting and sales planning processes with the Sales Manager
  9. Ensure compliance with quality-related policies, procedures, and system requirements

Requirements:

  • A strong background in mechanical engineering or a related field (post-secondary education preferred)
  • 3-5 years of experience in industrial sales environments
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A solid understanding of computers, measurements, tolerances, and basic geometry
  • A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • A high energy level, positive attitude, and ability to work independently
  • An empathetic approach, combined with confidence and a strong team player mentality
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
