Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Microsoft Server Support Specialist to join our team at Rogers Communications. As a key member of our Technology and Systems Administration department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Microsoft environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for reporting and service metrics, including analytics, capacity, and performance of the Microsoft environment as requested by leadership
  • Manage Microsoft Windows server resources, creation and deletion of VM snapshots; operating system patching upgrades/lifecycle (versions 2008 to 2022; physical and virtual environments)
  • Participate in delivery of enterprise-wide projects requiring Microsoft foundations (i.e., Active Directory, ADFS, SSO, etc.)
  • Provide infrastructure technology platform expertise in the delivery of Rogers technology projects and initiatives
  • Offer 3rd-tier level support to Server Operations teams with incidents and issues related to all infrastructure platforms
  • Participate as a key member of the Vulnerability Management program team
  • Create and maintain support documentation for processes like patching and hardware deployments
  • Assist with the identification of server assets, versions, patch levels, and agent status
  • Provide input based on technical expertise and have a strong understanding of industry best practices
  • Participate in team On-Call Rotations (24 x7) and workday escalations involving complex problem-solving for incident resolution
  • Establish an annual Performance Management Plan (PMP) for career development

Requirements:

  • Ability to support the infrastructure environment through standard ITSM Processes
  • Experience engaging on Service Requests/Incident/Changes/Problems escalated to the team in Service Now regarding program activities or regular day-to-day tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with end users, team members, other groups, and vendors
  • Keen interest and understanding of Security and Cyber Security concepts and how they pertain to the infrastructure landscape
  • Strong understanding of core concepts in Vmware, Azure Stack HCI
  • Ability to work after business hours or evening or weekend shifts may be required as patching is often completed after hours for systems/servers
  • Previous experience participating in triage and root cause analysis

About the Role:

This is a hybrid work position and will require you to be in office three days per week. You can choose which days in-office work best for you.
