Senior IT Support Specialist

The Role:
As a Senior IT Support Specialist with Active Information Systems, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional technical support and assistance to our IT technical services team. This role involves designing and implementing projects, resolving complex technical issues, maintaining and configuring network infrastructure, and monitoring the performance and integrity of our computer systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Interventions: Perform technical interventions, analyze causes, and provide escalation services for all workstations and network connectivity.
- Remote and On-Site Assistance: Provide remote and occasional on-site assistance to clients.
- Hardware and Software Installation: Install and configure computer hardware, components, networking software, and operating system software.
- Infrastructure Planning and Support: Assist in the planning, documentation, implementation, and support of our clients' computing infrastructure, including servers, LANs, and WANs.
- Server and Network Support: Support the monitoring, configuration, upgrade, and overall maintenance of Windows Server hardware, operating systems, and related services, including providing recommendations on changes and assistance to the Active Directory structure, such as user management and Group Policy.
- Network Security and Access Control: Implement and support network security and access controls, including firewalls and security policy.
- System Backups and Disaster Recovery: Responsible for system backups, archiving, and disaster recovery.
- System Monitoring and Performance: Monitor the daily performance of computer systems, verifying the integrity and availability of all systems.
- Service Prioritization and Coordination: Analyze and determine service priorities, plan daily travel schedules, and coordinate with other team members to ensure optimal service delivery.
Requirements:
- Advanced Knowledge and Experience: Advanced knowledge and experience with network infrastructure and tools, including LAN, WAN, VPN, VOIP, routers, wireless access points, switches, and cabling.
- Windows Operating Systems and Office 365: Strong understanding of Windows Operating Systems, O365, and MS Office Productivity Software (cloud and on-premise).
- Hardware Management: Proficient in advanced hardware management, including device manager, driver troubleshooting, and system optimization.
- Results-Oriented and Prioritization: Results-oriented with the capacity to successfully manage multiple and competing priorities and timelines.
- Customer Relationships: Demonstrated ability to build strong customer relationships through reliable completion of responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in IT services.
- Driver's License: Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract.
- Work Requirements: This position requires full-time, on-site work. Remote work is not available for this role.
- Must Be Bondable: Must be bondable.
- Authorized to Work in Canada: Authorized to work in Canada.
