The Role

This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned compliance professional to serve as an Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance Officer (AMLCO), Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), and/or Deputy MLRO for a diverse portfolio of Cayman Islands funds and Securities Investment Business Act (SIBA) asset managers.

  • Serve as AMLCO, MLRO, and/or DMLRO for a broad range of fund clients, including hedge funds, funds of funds, private equity funds, private credit funds, and real estate funds.
  • Support Directors and Associate Directors in servicing Cayman and BVI domiciled funds as needed.
  • Maintain relationship management support across client touch points within Waystone.
  • Oversee clients' AML compliance programs, ensuring systems and controls align with Cayman Islands' Anti-Money Laundering Regulations and relevant legislation.
  • Conduct regular audits of clients' AML compliance programs.
  • Evaluate risk assessments/calculations and risk-based approaches.
  • Report periodically to clients' boards of directors on the adequacy of AML systems and controls.
  • Assist in supervising and monitoring Waystone employees supporting AMLCO, MLRO, and/or DMLRO roles.
  • Provide expert advice on transformation projects and best practices.
  • Coordinate with Waystone's internal Compliance Department and manage project tasks as directed by Cayman Compliance Directors.
  • Develop and deliver AML compliance-related training.

$120,000 - $150,000 per annum

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in compliance, governance, risk, financial, or consulting roles in the Cayman fund services sector.
  • Knowledge of the Cayman Islands AML regulatory framework would be beneficial.
  • Prior experience being appointed as a Cayman regulated fund's named AMLCO/MLRO would be an asset.
