About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Regulatory Compliance Specialist to assist in leading, managing, and documenting MZ's underwriting and funding activities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing regulatory documents related to funding loans and issuing advances, managing all security documentation required to close the loans and advances, coordinating with external legal counsel in the preparation, negotiation, execution and processing of all documentation, and coordinating internally with Account Managers, Project Managers and Analysts, as well as the financial group to coordinate fundings and advances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare mortgage documents for various lending partners
  • Track deal status via our online portal and manage various checklists and trackers
  • Coordinate various legal agreements related to ongoing projects with external counsel
  • Document contractual mortgage renewals, extensions, and amendments
  • Process legal invoices
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in Legal Studies
  • Experience in Mortgage Administration, Asset Management, Commercial Lending, Banking, Financial Services, Real Estate Law, Real Estate Development and/or Underwriting
  • Superb time management skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize between multiple competing commitments and deadlines
  • Experience presenting complex information to Executive teams in a clear, correct, and concise manner
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $95,000 - $115,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a retirement savings plan.

MZ offices are open Monday to Friday and employees are expected to work on site a minimum of 4 days per week, with the option of working remotely 1 day per week, as agreed to by the direct supervisor. Our Waterloo office has 16,000 square feet of modern and accessible space and has been specially updated and tailored to meet our business needs.
