Environmental Health and Safety Compliance Graduate Opportunities

We are seeking highly motivated recent graduates with a degree in Environmental, Civil or Mechanical Engineering to join our team as EHS Compliance Specialists. In this role, you will work on a variety of projects relating to environmental compliance approvals, construction noise and vibration, highway expansion, land development, and noise complaint investigations.

Job Summary:
  • Prepare Acoustic Assessment Reports for ECA Applications and EASR Registrations
  • Coordinate and implement field work to conduct noise emission source inventories and noise measurements
  • Conduct noise modeling using Cadna A and TNM software
  • Prepare Acoustic Assessment Reports and Acoustic Audits
  • Assist with the design of noise abatement measures such as silencers, barriers, and wall treatment
  • Aid senior staff in technical research
  • Work with GHD's corporate Air & Noise Group, consisting of over 80 engineers and scientists across North America.
Requirements:
  • Recent or upcoming graduate from a Bachelor or Masters Degree program of Applied Science or Engineering in Chemical, Environmental, Civil or Mechanical Engineering programs
  • Previous co-op experience or relevant work experience preferred, however, not a firm requirement
  • Ability to prepare proposals in plain language addressing client requirements
  • Attention to detail along with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to complete work under tight deadlines when required
  • Works well independently as well as a part of a team
  • Willingness to travel/work on-site independently completing field work in support of GHD's Environmental Compliance business
  • No aversion to heights along with the ability to work in high noise areas
  • Written and verbal communication skills are critical to this position. Strong emphasis will be placed on your ability to communicate and engage in technical conversation.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook
  • Previous field experience is considered an asset
  • Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) member or plan to become one
  • Previous experience in computer aided design (CAD) modelling software such as SolidWorks, CATIA and/or Autodesk Inventor is beneficial
  • Previous experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software such as CFX, Fluent, StarCCM+ and/or OpenFOAM is beneficial
  • Valid G driver's license and access to a vehicle
Salary Range:$60,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.Benefits:
