Overview

The Senior Fraud Prevention Strategist will lead the development and implementation of comprehensive fraud prevention, detection, and mitigation strategies across all areas of the organization. This role is responsible for analyzing fraud trends, developing mitigation strategies, and deploying creative solutions to effectively manage fraud losses while supporting business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Fraud Strategies: Design and execute comprehensive fraud prevention, detection, and mitigation strategies across all areas of the organization.
  • Analyze and Monitor Fraud Risks: Continuously assess and monitor fraud risks, implementing proactive measures to address vulnerabilities.
  • Support Fraud Investigations: Assist partners in root cause analysis to identify and control gaps.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including legal, compliance, and law enforcement agencies, to coordinate fraud prevention efforts.
  • Train and Educate Staff: Provide training and education to staff on fraud awareness, prevention techniques, and reporting procedures.
  • Report to Senior Management: Prepare and present detailed reports on fraud incidents, trends, and mitigation efforts to senior management and the board of directors.
  • Stay Current on Fraud Trends: Keep abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in fraud risk management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in fraud risk management, including a proven track record of developing and implementing successful fraud prevention strategies.
  • Deep knowledge of fraud detection methodologies, investigative techniques, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present findings and recommendations to senior management.

Compensation and Benefits

This role offers an estimated salary range of $105,000 - $145,000 CAD per annum, depending on location and qualifications. Manulife also provides a range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance, as well as a pension plan and education assistance.
