Role Overview

A high-performing HR Consultant is sought to join the City of Edmonton's Talent Management team. This role requires a self-directed professional with a growth mindset, who can provide innovative and creative solutions to support organizational success.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Build collaborative relationships across stakeholder groups to deliver exceptional service.
  2. Provide strategic consultation and HR advice to clients, leveraging expertise in human resources matters.
  3. Support senior leadership in interpreting policies, procedures, directives, and legislation, ensuring informed decision-making.
  4. Develop presentations and reporting for department and branch leadership teams, effectively communicating key insights.
  5. Gather, analyze, interpret, and present HR analytics, driving data-informed decisions.
  6. Support projects, participate in working groups, and contribute to corporate-level initiatives, fostering collaboration and excellence.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, or a related field, complemented by relevant experience in HR, organizational development, strategy, issues management, planning, coordination, and project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex HR projects, requiring strong leadership, initiative, and change management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including presentation, written, verbal, and facilitation abilities, to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience applying project management principles and tools, as well as recognized organizational change management experience.
  • Ability to build strategic networks, alliances, and partnerships, working collaboratively and integrating information from multiple sources.
  • Capacity to analyze and integrate information, forming comprehensive perspectives, and achieving results through initiative and flexibility.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior levels of the organization and all operating areas, demonstrating alignment with the City's Cultural Commitments: Safe, Helpful, Accountable, Integrated, and Excellent.
Work Environment
  • This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, offering flexibility to work from home and the worksite.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $76,660 - $109,514 (Annually). The actual salary will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience. The City of Edmonton offers a competitive compensation package, including benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
