Job Summary

The Strategic Human Resources Director will play a vital role in driving business success at JW Marriott Edmonton ICE District. As a key member of the property executive committee, this individual will contribute a high level of human resource generalist knowledge and expertise to the team.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Talent Acquisition and Development: The Strategic Human Resources Director will be accountable for talent acquisition, succession planning, performance management, and development for property employees, utilizing technology efficiently and coaching others to achieve business objectives.
  • Staffing and Recruitment Process Management: This individual will analyze open positions to balance talent development and business needs, serve as a coach and expert facilitator of the selection and interviewing process, and make staffing decisions to manage the talent cadre and pipeline.
  • Employee Compensation Strategy: The Strategic Human Resources Director will lead the planning of the hourly employee total compensation strategy, champion communication and proper use of total compensation systems, tools, programs, policies, etc., and create and implement total compensation management packages/offers.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must have:

  • A 2-year degree from an accredited university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related major; 4 years experience in the human resources, management operations, or related professional area, OR a 4-year bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related major; 2 years experience in the human resources, management operations, or related professional area.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Experience in talent acquisition, staffing, and recruitment processes.
  • Knowledge of compensation and benefits strategies.
