Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Housing Services Coordinator to join our team at The Regional Municipality of York. As a key member of our Housing Programs team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional client services to applicants, participants, and landlords in rent subsidy and home repair programs.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide program information to clients, including eligibility criteria, application requirements, and ongoing program participation obligations.
• Assist clients with completing program applications, reviewing information for completeness, and following up as needed.
• Prepare benefit assessments for eligible households and notify the supervisor of any concerns or misrepresentation.
• Support the internal review process by tracking requests, assessing completeness, and requesting supplementary information from clients and/or original decision makers.
• Receive and arrange for the return of housing provider files, prepare file documentation for review, and prepare program agreements for execution with clients and/or landlords.
• Track availability of client subsidy allocations and prepare client subsidy/benefit calculations.
• Respond to client and public inquiries for information.
• Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with Branch and Department objectives.

Qualifications

• Post-Secondary Diploma in Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field, or an approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices to process accounts payable and balance rental payments.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and program policies, including the Residential Tenancies Act, the Housing Services Act, and Regional program instructions.
• Comprehensive knowledge of general office procedures, including records management.
• Knowledge and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies, including customer focus, communication, collaboration, and personal ownership.
