Job Overview

The Medication Aide plays a vital role in providing high-quality care and services to our residents at Sunrise Senior Living. As a Medication Care Manager, you will be responsible for administering medications and treatments in a safe and organized manner, ensuring the well-being and dignity of our residents.

Responsibilities
  • Administer medications and treatments according to the resident's care plan and medication administration record.
  • Review and document medication updates from the Resident Care Director or Wellness Nurse.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of medication administration, including initials and dates.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information, including medication records.
  • Report any resident concerns or issues related to medication administration to the Resident Care Director or Wellness Nurse.
  • Restock medication carts and maintain a clean and organized medication room.
  • Assist in checking medication inventory and reporting any discrepancies.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) and monthly updates.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; certifications may be required per state or provincial regulations.
  • Previous experience working with seniors preferred.
  • Ability to make choices and decisions in the best interest of the resident.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in difficult situations.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
