Job Summary

Sunrise Senior Living is seeking a highly skilled Medication Care Specialist to join our team. As a Medication Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of care for our residents by administering medications and treatments in a safe and organized manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medication Administration: Provide high-quality care by administering medications and treatments in a safe and organized manner.
  • Documentation and Communication: Document and communicate medication administration, resident concerns, and other relevant information to the Resident Care Director (RCD) or Wellness Nurse.
  • Medication Management: Receive medication updates, administer, assist with, and observe medications and treatments for each resident, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Confidentiality and Safety: Maintain confidentiality of resident information, ensure the safe storage and handling of medications, and report any accidents or incidents immediately.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in daily Cross Over meetings, contribute to the development of Individualized Service Plans (ISPs), and collaborate with the community team to ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
Requirements
  • Education and Certifications: High school diploma or equivalent, and certifications in CPR and First Aid.
  • Experience and Skills: Previous experience working with seniors, ability to make choices and decisions, and react calmly in difficult situations.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
