Job Title: LPN, Medical Unit – Infectious Disease Specialist, SPH

Providence Health Care is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Medical Unit team, specializing in Infectious Disease care. As a valued member of our interdisciplinary clinical team, you will provide compassionate and comprehensive nursing care to patients and residents with complex or unpredictable outcomes.

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate LPN to support the medical needs of individuals in active addiction and substance use. If you are interested in learning more about infectious diseases and are committed to delivering outstanding healthcare services, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides safe and respectful nursing care to an assigned group of patients/residents, according to established policies and procedures.
  • Conducts head-to-toe assessments, monitors and recognizes abnormal signs or symptoms, and communicates with the RN/RPN as required.
  • Supports and partners with the RN/RPN in the care of patients/residents with complex or unpredictable outcomes.
  • Administers medications, including narcotics and excluding intravenous route, according to established procedures.
  • Responds to a variety of incidents such as Codes, injuries or falls, hazardous spills, aggressive behavior, and fire alarms.
Requirements
  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
  • Current basic cardiac life support certification.
