Providence Health Care is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Medical Unit team, specializing in Infectious Disease care. As a valued member of our interdisciplinary clinical team, you will provide compassionate and comprehensive nursing care to patients and residents with complex or unpredictable outcomes.
Job SummaryWe are looking for a dedicated and passionate LPN to support the medical needs of individuals in active addiction and substance use. Key Responsibilities- Provides safe and respectful nursing care to an assigned group of patients/residents, according to established policies and procedures.
- Conducts head-to-toe assessments, monitors and recognizes abnormal signs or symptoms, and communicates with the RN/RPN as required.
- Supports and partners with the RN/RPN in the care of patients/residents with complex or unpredictable outcomes.
- Administers medications, including narcotics and excluding intravenous route, according to established procedures.
- Responds to a variety of incidents such as Codes, injuries or falls, hazardous spills, aggressive behavior, and fire alarms.
- Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Current basic cardiac life support certification.
