Sunrise Senior Living is seeking a highly skilled Medication Care Specialist to join our team. As a Medication Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our residents by administering medications and treatments in a safe and organized manner.
Key Responsibilities- Medication Administration: Provide high-quality care by administering medications and treatments in a safe and organized manner.
- Documentation and Communication: Document and communicate medication administration, including reviewing and updating resident medication records, and notifying Resident Care Directors and Wellness Nurses of medication updates.
- Medication Management: Ensure medications are passed according to schedule, document and initial medication administration, and maintain confidentiality of resident medication information.
- Risk Management and Safety: Partner with the community team to ensure compliance with OSHA and Occupational Health and Safety Regulation requirements, and report all accidents, incidents, and unsafe conditions immediately.
- Training and Team Success: Participate in regular training and meetings, and contribute to team success by actively participating in daily Cross Over meetings and attending training sessions.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent required; certifications and ongoing training may be required per state or provincial regulations.
- Experience: Previous experience working with seniors preferred.
- Skills: Ability to make choices and decisions, react calmly in difficult situations, handle multiple priorities, and possess written and verbal communication skills.
- Certifications: CPR and First Aid certifications required.
