The Opportunity
This field-based position is located in the Perth-Stratford Area, focusing on the Diabetes Care Division. In this division, we're dedicated to helping people with diabetes manage their health through life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive informed decisions. We're revolutionizing glucose level monitoring with our new sensing technology.

Your Role
The Diabetes Sales Specialist will perform duties and activities within established company policies and procedures, maintaining a professional and ethical demeanor to achieve quality performance and maximum sales growth in an assigned geographical territory. This role involves building relationships with high-prescribing doctors, educators, and retail pharmacists within the diabetes category, as well as maintaining a high level of knowledge about disease states, competitive products, and Abbott Diabetes Care products to meet customer needs and expectations. The position reports directly to the District Manager.

Your Key Responsibilities
• Develop a strategic territory plan to maximize sales by analyzing market dynamics and utilizing available information to develop, plan, track, and adjust accordingly to meet short-term and long-term goals;
• Grow sales and share of sensors and BGM test strips by effectively educating and convincing HCPs to recommend Abbott products to patients;
• Collaborate closely with sales and marketing team members to drive growth;
• Engage in continuous self-development to stay up-to-date on disease states, new products (Abbott Diabetes Care and competition), new tools, and the changing business environment to support sales growth and effective territory management;
• Communicate sales activity, follow-up, and reporting in a clear, concise, and consistent manner, meeting key administrative and project deadlines;
• Maintain all assigned company equipment, records, and supplies in accordance with company policy for efficient operations.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree combined with medical device or pharmaceutical sales experience;
• Minimum 3 years of sales experience;
• Strong problem-solving skills;
• Excellent selling and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to develop and present innovative solutions;
• Strong negotiation skills.
