About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Appletree Medical Group. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our physicians and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in performing triage, taking patient histories, and conducting limited physical examinations when needed.
  • Schedule patient appointments, tests, and procedures, optimizing the clinic's schedule and minimizing patient wait times.
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow up on patient care plans.
  • Appropriate application of scripts, scenarios and clinical skills, and usage of EMR.
  • Ensure consistent inventory levels through daily stocking of exam rooms.
  • Ensure a clean & quiet environment by cleaning/sanitizing exam rooms, common spaces, foyers, bathrooms.
  • Proper registration of the patient administratively (i.e. reception, scheduling, collecting payments, etc.)
  • Basic IT troubleshooting, as needed.
  • Accompany healthcare providers during patient visits and document patient encounters in real-time.
  • Document patient encounters, medical histories, and treatment plans accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Requirements
  • Completion of a medical degree.
  • Excellent communication skills in English with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Must be permanently eligible to work in Canada (i.e., Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen) or have a Work Permit valid beyond 12 months.
  • Typing speed of 40WPM for data entry.
  • Committed, reliable, and flexible regarding scheduling of shifts (i.e., days, evenings, and weekends).
  • Flexibility regarding working at multiple clinic/office locations in the city.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of $52,800 per year, plus additional bonuses based on individual services. You will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including vision, dental, medical, and paramedical services, with eligibility beginning at 6 months of continuous full time employment.
