Transportation Operations Manager

As a Transportation Operations Manager at All Directions Transport, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the daily functions of our transportation department. This is a permanent position requiring a commitment of 30 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities- Performance Monitoring: Assess and enhance departmental performance to ensure operational efficiency.
- Operational Planning: Strategically plan and organize daily operations to meet company objectives.
- Staff Recruitment: Identify and recruit qualified personnel to support our growing team.
- Team Supervision: Lead and supervise a team of 11-15 employees, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Financial Management: Manage departmental finances and budget, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines.
- Service Negotiation: Negotiate contracts for services and secure preferential rates.
- Scheduling Oversight: Oversee the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods to optimize service delivery.
- Rate Setting: Establish transportation service rates and monitor revenue streams.
- Inventory Management: Organize and maintain inventory to support operational needs.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree is required.
- Experience: 1 to 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent qualifications.
- Area of Expertise: Experience in fleet management is essential.
This role is situated within a fast-paced trucking company, requiring attention to detail and the ability to manage a large workload under pressure.
