Transportation Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Manager to join our team at All Directions Transport. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our transportation department.
Key Responsibilities- Department Performance Monitoring: Regularly monitor and analyze the performance of our transportation department to identify areas for improvement.
- Operations Planning: Plan and organize daily operations to ensure efficient and effective transportation services.
- Staff Recruitment and Supervision: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of transportation staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
- Financial Management: Manage the financial aspects of our transportation department, including budgeting and forecasting.
- Negotiations and Service Management: Negotiate with suppliers and service providers to secure the best rates and services for our company.
- Vehicle and Goods Scheduling: Oversee the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods to ensure timely and efficient transportation services.
- Rate Setting and Revenue Monitoring: Set transportation service rates and monitor revenue to ensure profitability.
- Inventory Management: Organize and maintain inventory levels to ensure that we have the necessary supplies and equipment to operate efficiently.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as transportation management or logistics.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a transportation management role, or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Work Environment: Our transportation department operates in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a large workload and tight deadlines.
- Physical Demands: The role requires the ability to work in a physically demanding environment, with regular travel and long hours.
