Project Overview:

Bechtel, in collaboration with key partners, has been designated as the Delivery Partner within an Integrated Project Team for a significant subway project. This initiative involves the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of extensive rail systems and infrastructure, delivered through major contracts and advanced works.

Position Summary:

The Package Contracts Manager will report to the Package Commercial Manager and will oversee all Contract Management activities for the designated Package. This role requires professional oversight of package delivery, ensuring compliance with regulatory and stakeholder requirements, and applying expertise in procurement, risk management, and construction throughout all phases of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the responsibilities matrix for contract management tasks and adhere to established processes and procedures.
  • Coordinate with various project functions to address contractual rights, obligations, and performance.
  • Manage complex contract modifications through negotiations with contractors and clients.
  • Engage with Integrated Project Team members to promote awareness of contract provisions and vendor compliance.
  • Review contractor progress reports for potential commercial implications and advise the project management team.
  • Oversee the approval of contractor progress payments and interrogate contractor entitlements as necessary.
  • Facilitate contract close-out, ensuring all commercial and technical requirements are satisfied.
  • Lead a team of Contract personnel, providing guidance and support in effective Contract Management.
  • Assist the Package Commercial Manager with various tasks and report preparation.

Qualifications and Skills:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field, along with 10+ years of relevant experience.

Additional Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of contract regulations, policies, and practices.
  • Experience in pricing, contract law, negotiations, and accounting.
  • Proficiency in managing various contract types and fee arrangements.
  • Ability to propose solutions to contractual challenges.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with engineering and construction industry contracting practices.
  • Understanding of confidentiality protocols.
  • Confidence in engaging with senior management and external agencies.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
