Position Overview:

The Government of Manitoba is seeking qualified individuals for multiple Policy & Program Analyst roles. These positions are essential for the development and evaluation of government programs and policies across various departments.

Role Summary:

As a Policy & Program Analyst, you will engage in all phases of the policy and program lifecycle, including:

  • Conducting thorough research and analysis
  • Consulting with stakeholders
  • Formulating recommendations
  • Evaluating existing programs and policies
In addition, you may be tasked with providing centralized support and leadership within your department, managing special initiatives, and overseeing strategic planning and corporate processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Policy & Program Analysts at this level will:
  • Research and assess the feasibility of significant programs and policies
  • Ensure alignment of programs with intended policy outcomes
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of departmental strategic initiatives
  • Draft various documents for senior management
  • Participate in project management and strategic planning
  • Develop methodologies for project budgets
  • Engage in research to support legislative and policy development
  • Consult with external organizations regarding program information
  • Monitor and supervise the work of consulting firms or assigned research assistants

Qualifications:

Essential:
  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field such as Business, Social Sciences, or Law
  • Experience in conducting research and analysis related to legislation and policies
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Strong interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement
  • Ability to navigate sensitive issues with professionalism
  • Experience in project management
Desired:
  • Knowledge of Indigenous issues and community relations
  • Proficiency in both French and English for certain positions

Conditions of Employment:

  • Willingness to work extended hours as needed
  • Ability to travel across Manitoba
  • Maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check
  • Possess a valid Manitoba Driver's license
