Role Summary

What is the role?

As a pivotal member of our team, you will offer strategic business and financial guidance while managing a portfolio of high-value small business clients. Your role will position you as RBC's representative in the local business community. Utilizing your skills in external marketing and client engagement, you will foster new business opportunities for RBC and enhance existing client relationships. Collaborating with other RBC advisors and specialists, you will help create a valued experience for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, nurture, and expand client relationships by delivering customized financial advice tailored to their unique needs.
  • Engage proactively with clients, gathering insights through comprehensive discovery processes to understand their evolving needs and ensure their satisfaction with RBC.
  • Strategically plan and prioritize client and market initiatives, identifying opportunities and facilitating introductions to RBC partners to address clients' business and personal financial requirements.
  • Exercise risk management and due diligence in all banking operations, formulating appropriate action plans in response to identified concerns or risks.
  • Promote digital engagement and advocate for RBC's mobile and online platforms, empowering clients to interact with RBC through their preferred channels.
  • Be present in your clients' environments, visiting them on-site to gain a deeper understanding of their business goals and operations, as permitted.

Qualifications for Success

Essential Skills

  • Proven business development, client acquisition, and prospecting capabilities, including the ability to build and leverage valuable networks within the local business ecosystem.
  • Demonstrated excellence in client relationship management.
  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French is required, as you will regularly assist clients with varying language needs.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of credit processes, including risk assessments, financial analysis, credit structuring, and deal presentations.
  • Completion of the Associate Account Manager training program, or relevant experience as a small business owner or in a similar capacity.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of business and personal financial products and services.
