Pay Rate: Competitive Salary Primary Focus: The Security Operations Supervisor will collaborate with the Security Manager to achieve the objectives outlined in our operational agreements. This leadership role requires a strong emphasis on customer service, emergency management expertise, and exceptional interpersonal skills.
The Security Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily security operations and life safety protocols. This position entails managing all responsibilities assigned to security personnel and ensuring adherence to company standards and industry best practices in areas such as Emergency Management, Operational Management, Personnel & Staffing, Budget & Administration, and Health & Safety. A vital aspect of this role is maintaining quality assurance to guarantee compliance with established standards.
The Security Operations Supervisor will cultivate and maintain relationships with internal teams, tenants, public authorities, suppliers, and industry stakeholders. This role will also involve setting performance goals for security personnel and ensuring their achievement, focusing on performance management and individual development to uphold high standards and effective succession planning. Additionally, the Security Operations Supervisor will contribute to the development and testing of emergency response plans to prepare for various potential incidents. The Security Operations Supervisor will guide the daily activities of all security personnel, ensuring an effective and professional workforce by focusing on: Recruiting qualified candidates, Training to high standards, Mentoring and motivating staff, Promoting equal and ethical treatment, Recognizing and rewarding performance, Leading by example. Education & Experience:
A minimum of a high school diploma is required, with a preference for a community college diploma in security/life safety, risk management, or a related field. Candidates should have at least three years of experience in a commercial security environment, with a minimum of one year in a supervisory role. Technical Skills:
Familiarity with security and life safety technologies, including CCTV, access control, and fire alarm systems. Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations in security management is essential.
Interpersonal Skills:
Strong communication skills, the ability to motivate and mentor staff, and excellent organizational skills are crucial. The candidate should demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
Operational Management:
Direct oversight of security personnel, ensuring that all aspects of the security program are regularly assessed and updated to align with best practices and operational efficiency.
Develop and maintain operational procedures to support effective security management practices. Provide ongoing support to tenants regarding security-related matters and establish key contacts to facilitate timely communication.
