Job Responsibilities

Position: Security Operations Supervisor

Status: Full-Time - Days

Hours: Monday to Friday

Pay Rate: Competitive hourly wage

Primary Responsibilities:


The Security Operations Supervisor will collaborate with the Security and Life Safety Manager to achieve the objectives outlined in our operational agreements.

This leadership role requires a focus on customer service, emergency management expertise, and exceptional interpersonal skills.

The Supervisor will oversee daily security operations and ensure the implementation of effective security and life safety protocols.

Key responsibilities include managing contractor obligations, maintaining compliance with company standards, and ensuring best practices in emergency management, operational oversight, personnel management, budgeting, and health and safety.

Establishing and nurturing relationships with internal teams, tenants, public authorities, and industry stakeholders is essential for success in this role.

The Supervisor will also contribute to the development of security personnel, ensuring performance management and succession planning align with our high standards.

Additionally, the role involves participating in the creation and testing of emergency response plans to prepare for various potential incidents.

Supervisory Duties:
The Security Operations Supervisor will guide the daily activities of all security personnel, ensuring a professional and effective workforce through:
  • Recruitment of qualified candidates
  • Comprehensive training programs
  • Mentorship and motivation
  • Fair and ethical treatment
  • Recognition of achievements

Qualifications:


A high school diploma is required, with a preference for candidates holding a community college diploma in security management, risk management, or a related field. Relevant experience in commercial security environments is essential, with a minimum of three years in progressively responsible roles.

Experience in a supervisory capacity is preferred, particularly in complex facilities.


Technical Skills:
  • Understanding of security operations and life safety needs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and security technology
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations
  • Awareness of industry trends and techniques

Interpersonal Skills:
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Capability to motivate and coach staff
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to handle diverse situations with tact

Operational Management:


The Supervisor will be responsible for the oversight of all security personnel, ensuring that operational procedures align with industry best practices and organizational standards.

They will provide guidance to tenants on security matters and maintain strategic relationships to enhance security operations.


Certification Requirements:
  • Vulnerable Sector Check
  • COVID-19 Vaccination
  • Two years of supervisory experience in security
  • Valid Security License
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED Certification
