Liquidity Risk Analyst

Position Overview:
The Liquidity and Funding Analyst plays a crucial role in managing the liquidity and funding risks at BMO Financial Group. This position involves monitoring and reporting on funding activities, collateral utilization, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the liquidity and funding risk management processes, serving as the primary line of defense;
- Ensure adherence to corporate policies and guidelines;
- Collaborate with Technology & Operations to create and implement analytical models that enhance liquidity risk oversight;
- Generate timely and precise management reports regarding liquidity and funding activities, including collateral usage and liquidity coverage ratios;
- Conduct detailed analysis of balance sheet impacts under various scenarios related to capital and liquidity;
- Contribute to projects aimed at optimizing Capital Markets performance within balance sheet constraints;
- Develop and execute liquidity and funding stress testing scenarios to identify potential risks;
- Engage with Lines of Business to proactively manage liquidity and funding exposures;
- Create and maintain robust forecasting tools for balance sheet and liquidity to support growth initiatives;
- Ensure compliance with liquidity and funding limits;
- Prepare comprehensive reports for senior management regarding liquidity and funding risks;
- Facilitate periodic audits by internal and external parties.
Qualifications:
Knowledge:
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or FRM;
- 2 to 5+ years of relevant experience in liquidity and funding management, capital management, or financial reporting;
- Familiarity with international financial markets and regulatory environments;
- Proficient in trading and settlement systems;
- Advanced skills in MS Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, as well as knowledge of VBA, SQL, and Python;
- Understanding of liquidity principles, market risk management, and financial instruments;
- Awareness of best practices in capital and liquidity management.
