Position Overview:

BMO Financial Group is a prominent provider of comprehensive financial services, specializing in corporate and investment banking, treasury management, as well as research and advisory services globally.

Role Summary:

The Analyst will be responsible for overseeing liquidity and funding risk management within BMO Financial Group. This includes monitoring and reporting on funding activities, collateral utilization, and ensuring compliance with established policies and guidelines. The role requires collaboration with various business lines, corporate treasury, and risk management teams to safeguard the financial integrity of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and report on liquidity and funding risk as a primary line of defense.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate policies and standards.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to develop analytical models that enhance liquidity risk oversight.
  • Generate timely and precise management reports related to liquidity and funding activities.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of balance sheet impacts under various scenarios.
  • Engage in projects aimed at optimizing Capital Markets performance within regulatory constraints.
  • Develop stress testing scenarios to identify and mitigate potential liquidity risks.
  • Work closely with business units to proactively manage liquidity exposures and opportunities.
  • Create and maintain robust forecasting tools to support business growth.
  • Prepare reports for senior management regarding liquidity and funding risk oversight.
  • Participate in audits conducted by internal and external parties.

Qualifications:

  • Professional designations such as CPA, CFA, or FRM are preferred.
  • 2 to 5+ years of relevant experience in liquidity management, capital management, or financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of international financial markets and regulatory environments.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiar with programming languages such as SQL and Python.
  • Knowledge of liquidity principles and risk management practices.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficient in data management and analysis.
