Position Overview:

BMO Financial Group is a premier provider of comprehensive financial services, specializing in corporate and investment banking, treasury management, and advisory services globally.

Role Responsibilities:

The Analyst in Liquidity and Funding will be responsible for overseeing liquidity and funding risk management within BMO Financial Group. This includes the monitoring and reporting of funding activities, collateral utilization, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.

Key duties include:

  • Management of liquidity and funding risk as the primary line of defense;
  • Monitoring adherence to corporate policies and guidelines;
  • Collaboration with Technology & Operations to develop analytical models for liquidity risk oversight;
  • Timely production of management information regarding liquidity and funding activities;
  • Conducting in-depth analysis of balance sheet impacts under various scenarios;
  • Participation in projects aimed at optimizing Capital Markets performance;
  • Development of stress testing scenarios to address potential liquidity risks;
  • Engagement with Lines of Business to identify and manage liquidity exposures;
  • Creation and maintenance of forecasting tools to support growth;
  • Preparation of reports for senior management regarding liquidity and funding risks;
  • Facilitation of audits by internal and external parties.

Qualifications:

  • Professional designations such as CPA, CFA, or FRM;
  • 2 to 5+ years of relevant experience in liquidity and funding management, capital management, or financial reporting;
  • Strong understanding of international financial markets and regulatory environments;
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with SQL, VBA, and Python;
  • Experience in liquidity principles and risk management practices.
