Role Overview:

As a Financial Services Associate, you will be part of a team of highly motivated financial service experts dedicated to delivering an outstanding Member Experience.

In this pivotal role within the branch sales team, your primary duties will involve assessing the financial requirements of our Members and providing tailored advice and recommendations. This includes offering guidance on more complex credit and investment options.

You will be accountable for achieving and surpassing specific individual and team-oriented business targets. While delivering appropriate financial solutions, you will manage Member portfolios to genuinely cultivate relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
Member Experience
  • Comprehend how Meridian's offerings can enhance value for our Members
  • Deliver investment guidance by identifying and advocating solutions that align with our Members' needs
  • Recommend credit products based on precise and suitable credit assessment and underwriting skills
  • Engage in revenue-generating and sales-focused activities to meet performance goals; establish external networks to optimize sales and service outcomes
  • Utilize available tools to proactively identify and promote opportunities with all Members to deepen relationships and ensure exceptional service experiences
  • Leverage virtual technology platforms to conduct meetings and engage in meaningful communication with Members
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion to uphold Member privacy
Employee Experience
  • Act as an engaged colleague and trusted partner to foster internal relationships within the Member Experience teams and cross-functional departments, ensuring the achievement of Retail Experience objectives
  • Exhibit empathy towards colleagues by openly sharing thoughts and ideas while promoting inclusivity and a sense of belonging in the workplace
  • Pursue personal learning and development in alignment with Meridian values while executing action plans linked to Employee Engagement outcomes
  • Actively support the leadership team in planning initiatives, assisting with implementation, and providing constructive feedback

Community Engagement
  • Advocate for Meridian Credit Union within your community by participating in and engaging with local activities or events while embodying the Company Values
  • Support local organizations and initiatives through Business Development and the Good Neighbour Program, including planning, preparation, and execution of Meridian-hosted Community events.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a financial services setting, demonstrating a consistent sales track record
  • Strong knowledge of the business and financial sectors, with aspirations for career advancement within the financial services field
  • MFDA licensing is required for most positions
  • Willingness to work all scheduled hours, including some evenings and weekends
  • Proficient understanding of computer systems and applications, including Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Exceptional negotiation, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including coaching and leadership abilities
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving capabilities
