POSITION SUMMARY

Located in our Toronto facility, the Process Improvement Analyst will work a standard 40-hour week, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with flexibility as required by business needs. Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineer Manager, this role is pivotal in achieving objectives related to various process control initiatives within the department, optimizing production workflows, and enhancing quality management along with other performance and productivity targets. The Analyst will support supervisors, implement EssilorLuxottica's continuous improvement and quality standards, and ensure hands-on process control with the necessary calibration to enhance operational efficiency. This role also involves coordinating process standardization and providing training support to employees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and enhance continuous improvement processes within the Coating department.
  • Act as a liaison between Global Engineering and the Coating production team to address process control, equipment calibration, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and follow up on LTS and/or Global Engineering support to implement any necessary changes or requirements for process standardization.
  • Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for process control in the Coating department.
  • Assist Supervisors in the rollout of new products, production workflows, and project management tasks.
  • Analyze production rejects and devise strategies to mitigate non-performance issues related to processes.
  • Track production key performance indicators (KPIs) and propose solutions for process enhancement.
  • Ensure accurate recording and availability of all machine parameters as per standardization requirements.
  • Coordinate and facilitate LOFT training.
  • Develop training materials, SOPs, and best practices for processes and equipment calibration.
  • Provide training for team members and create tools to ensure the accuracy and integrity of results reporting.
  • Establish and validate work sequences for each station in the Coating department.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance and EHS departments to ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies.
  • Ensure proper disposal of chemicals in accordance with EHS guidelines.
  • Update Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) as necessary.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance department to ensure all machinery is properly maintained and calibrated according to Global Engineering standards.
  • Identify and communicate issues to the Maintenance department.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent teamwork, analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office is highly recommended.
  • In-depth knowledge of production processes, standardization, calibration, and workflow management.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
