Key Responsibilities:

In the role of Senior Manager, Business Analysis, you will oversee a team that delivers top-tier Digital Product and Experience (DPX) solutions for our clients. Utilizing your extensive expertise, you will cultivate and guide your team to work in synergy with business and IT leaders, ensuring excellence in requirements gathering, documentation, information management, and business analysis. You will be responsible for establishing and executing the Business Analysis Chapter roadmap, along with strategic and operational plans that align with the organization's overarching goals.

  • Team Leadership:
    • Manage a team of Business Analysts, providing coaching and guidance on best practices.
    • Foster a high-performance culture by implementing strategies that attract, retain, and develop talent while promoting an inclusive work environment.
    • Ensure effective allocation and utilization of resources to meet both personal and organizational objectives.
    • Lead the team in delivering professional services to clients by understanding their complex business needs and staying informed on industry trends.
    • Guarantee that the Business Analysis team produces comprehensive and clear documentation for system and process changes.
    • Mentor the team through the development of user stories, business requirements documents (BRDs), and other project deliverables.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Drive the ongoing enhancement of Scotiabank's business analysis practices, focusing on people, processes, methods, tools, and technologies.
    • Champion a client-centric culture to strengthen client relationships and leverage broader organizational knowledge.
    • Ensure that solutions align with the strategic direction of the organization while enhancing operational efficiency and service quality.
    • Encourage innovative thinking to adapt to evolving business needs and identify optimization opportunities.
    • Collaborate with IT teams and external stakeholders to elevate practice quality in line with Scotiabank's strategic objectives.
    • Act as a consultant during the initiative intake process, providing insights on business case assessments and feasibility analyses.
    • Understand and adhere to the Regulatory Compliance Framework, including Anti-Money Laundering policies.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience:
    • 5-10 years of experience in business or operational analysis, with a minimum of 5 years in a management role.
    • A degree in business, technology, systems, or a related field is required, or equivalent experience.
    • Experience in an Agile environment is essential.
    • Background in the financial services sector is preferred.
    • Experience in a digital organization is advantageous.
    • Proven leadership in business analysis for large, cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced setting.
    • Familiarity with the International Institute for Business Analysis (IIBA) BABOK is a plus.
    • Project management experience is beneficial.
    • A technical background is an asset.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of banking applications.
    • Interest in emerging technologies.
