In this capacity, you will:

  • Oversee a team of Business Analysts, providing guidance and education on industry best practices

    Foster a high-performance culture and implement a talent strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates your team by promoting an inclusive workplace. Communicate the vision, values, and business strategy while managing succession and development planning for your team. Responsible for the allocation, utilization, recruitment, and growth of Business Analysts to meet both personal and organizational goals. Lead and develop the team to deliver exceptional professional services to clients (both internal and external) by comprehending their business requirements across complex and multidisciplinary initiatives. Stay informed about emerging industry and technology trends and actively participate in the initiation and presentation of business analysis capability enhancement ideas.

  • Enhance the continuous improvement and strategy of Tangerine's business analysis chapter encompassing people, processes, methodologies, tools, and technologies

    Promote a client-centric culture to strengthen client relationships and leverage broader organizational relationships, systems, and knowledge. Ensure that solutions align with the strategic direction of the organization while enhancing operational efficiency, minimizing operational risks, and delivering quality service by developing a comprehensive understanding of both the strategic direction of the organization and the current IT and business systems and architectures. Encourage innovative thinking to adapt to evolving business needs, thereby driving optimization opportunities to simplify and advance existing solutions and reduce complexities, resulting in improved enterprise velocity.

  • Act as a strategic partner in the initiative intake process

    Refine and provide internal consulting to the business regarding new business case assessments, initiatives for impact, and feasibility analyses. Ensure that the Business Analysis team delivers outputs that are clearly, accurately, and thoroughly documented and understood for both system and process modifications. Coach and mentor the team throughout the initiative process, developing and maintaining user stories, Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), requirements traceability matrices, and other project deliverables.

  • Ensure compliance with the Regulatory Compliance Framework

    Understand and adhere to the Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing and Sanctions Policy, along with all related policies, procedures, and controls within the department.

Do you possess the skills necessary for success in this role? We would be excited to collaborate with you if you have:

  • Education/Experience

    A minimum of 5 years of business or operational analysis experience, including at least 5 years in a management role. A degree in business, technology, systems, or a related field is required, or equivalent work experience. Previous experience in an Agile environment and an Agile mindset is essential. Experience in the financial services sector is preferred, and experience in a digital organization is an asset. Proven leadership in business analysis and experience in large, cross-functional enterprise initiatives within a fast-paced environment is required. Active participation and in-depth knowledge of the International Institute for Business Analysis (IIBA) BABOK (Business Analysis Body of Knowledge) is considered an asset. Direct project management experience and/or education is advantageous. A technical background is also beneficial.

  • Technical Skills

    Strong understanding of banking business applications and a keen interest in new and emerging technologies.

Energetic, personable, and thrives in a dynamic environment. Proven ability to influence at the Senior Management level and above. Ability to act as a liaison between various stakeholders to achieve business results. Capability to develop effective executive-level communications and presentation materials. Self-directed professional with the ability to meet broadly communicated objectives with minimal supervision. Excellent team-building and relationship management skills.
