Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at LMC Diabetes & Endocrinology. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our endocrinologists and interdisciplinary team in providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate patient flow in examination and treatment areas to optimize facility use and physician schedules.
- Ensure accurate documentation, including patient information and forms, and liaise with medical laboratories and physician offices as needed.
- Prepare patients for physician evaluation, including vital sign measurements and charting.
- Collect patient medical and social history, and review medication lists for accuracy.
- Promote comprehensive, coordinated care through collaboration with the LMC care team.
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary medical supplies, and download glucose meters, continuous glucose monitors, and insulin pumps.
- Download investigations via electronic software, such as DSQ, OLIS, and Netcare.
- Medical office experience and/or Medical Office Assistant diploma.
- Previous Personal Support Worker or Medical Laboratory experience is considered an asset.
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant (MA) or Practical Nurse is considered an asset.
- Proficient knowledge of Electronic Medical Records systems, with Accuro knowledge considered an asset.
- Sound knowledge of medical terminology.
- Previous experience as a medical assistant and/or proficiency in measuring various vital signs, such as manual blood pressure and pulse, is considered an asset.
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills, with a focus on helping patients access services to improve their health.
