Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking an Operating Room (OR) Booking/Slating Clerk to enhance the efficiency of the Operating Room team.
This position is essential in supporting the surgical scheduling operations at Lions Gate Hospital. We are looking for a dedicated individual to contribute to our mission of providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate within a team environment to ensure that surgical scheduling and slating needs are effectively addressed. Utilize analytical skills and current knowledge of procedural protocols and computerized systems to manage and allocate daily procedural bookings. Responsibilities include: identifying available scheduling options, preparing and revising preliminary Operating Room schedules, finalizing and distributing the schedule to relevant departments, compiling and maintaining surgical statistics and waitlists, ordering office supplies, and managing correspondence. Support patient care delivery and ensure a positive experience for patients and their families with the services provided.Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Completion of Grade 12. A minimum of three (3) years of recent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Skills & Competencies
Proficient typing skills at a minimum of 45 words per minute. Familiarity with medical terminology. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with others. Physical capability to perform the duties of the position. Supervisory skills are an asset. Organizational skills to manage related equipment effectively.Additional Information
Work hours, including days off and work areas, may be adjusted based on operational needs and in accordance with the Collective Agreement and applicable regulations. Successful candidates may be required to undergo a Criminal Records Review Check.
