We are seeking an Operating Room (OR) Booking/Slating Clerk to enhance the surgical team at Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH).
This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of the Operating Room at Lions Gate Hospital. We are looking for a dedicated individual to contribute to our healthcare mission.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate within a team-oriented environment to fulfill surgical booking and slating needs effectively. Utilize analytical skills and current knowledge of procedural protocols alongside computerized systems to manage daily surgical schedules. Responsibilities include: identifying available booking slots, preparing and revising preliminary Operating Room schedules, finalizing and distributing the schedule to relevant departments, compiling and maintaining operative statistical data and surgical waitlists, managing office supplies, and handling correspondence. Support patient care delivery and ensure a positive experience for patients and their families within the designated services.Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Completion of Grade 12. A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Skills & Competencies
Proficient typing skills at a minimum of 45 words per minute. Familiarity with medical terminology. Strong verbal and written communication abilities. Effective interpersonal skills. Physical capability to perform the duties of the position. Supervisory skills. Organizational skills to operate related equipment.Additional Information
The work schedule, including days off and work area, may vary based on operational needs and applicable agreements. Successful candidates may be required to undergo a Criminal Records Review Check.
