Global Transaction Banking (GTB) serves as the payments and transaction backbone of Scotiabank. We provide Small Business, Commercial, and Corporate clients with superior treasury management solutions paired with a top-tier service model, facilitating seamless business interactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster a customer-centric culture to strengthen client relationships and leverage broader Bank resources, systems, and knowledge.
  • Assist in the continuous evaluation and development of GTB opportunities by exploring external client challenges across priority markets and executing analyses and communications of conceptual opportunities.
  • Contribute to the formulation and advancement of the GTB strategy and roadmap through research on global payment trends and disruptions, analyzing their relevance to Scotiabank's markets.
  • Collaborate with business line partners to identify and define GTB opportunities aligned with the Bank's global strategic objectives.
  • Develop methodologies to quantify and communicate the value of identified opportunities.
  • Design and facilitate problem-solving sessions, workshops, and interviews with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts.
  • Consolidate findings and present clear recommendations and implementation strategies to ensure impactful project outcomes for senior leadership.
  • Support annual business planning initiatives.
  • Understand the Bank's risk appetite and culture, ensuring these are considered in daily activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue operational efficiency in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, ensuring compliance with operational, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk obligations.
  • Promote a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Corporate Strategy, Consulting, or strategic roles within a Financial Services organization.
  • Strong comprehension of the domestic and global transaction banking and payments landscape, including market usage across segments.
  • Ability to clearly articulate and communicate complex business concepts related to transaction banking.
  • Experience applying design thinking principles to define and address business challenges.
  • Comfort working in an agile, matrixed environment.
  • Hands-on experience with payments modernization initiatives, either domestically or internationally.
  • General knowledge of global transaction banking trends and technologies.
  • Proficient technical skills in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
