The Royal Bank of Canada is seeking a Senior Manager for the Credit Strategy & Data Science division. This role involves leveraging sophisticated analytics to formulate credit strategies aimed at enhancing revenue while effectively managing risk, ultimately leading to improved portfolio profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize data analysis, profitability modeling, and business acumen to guide lending decisions for credit card programs.
- Enhance the profitability of the retail credit card portfolio through thorough analysis and strategic recommendations.
- Collaborate with senior management and Group Risk Management partners to refine and implement credit strategies.
- Oversee the implementation and integrity of credit strategies within relevant systems.
- Develop financial models to project outcomes of strategic decisions and evaluate actual results against expectations for continuous improvement.
- Extract insights to improve credit strategies using various testing methodologies.
- Support the recruitment and development of a skilled analytical credit team.
- Create and implement management systems to cultivate a top-tier credit analyst team.
- Explore new methodologies and tools to enhance models and strategies, fostering innovation within the credit strategy framework.
Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in advanced analytics, particularly in risk analytics and strategy design for lending products.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a solid understanding of credit risk principles and financial modeling.
- Proficient in SQL, Excel, SAS, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with modern analytical tools and technologies, including Python, GitHub, AWS, and HDFS.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Python libraries and Tableau.
- Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders and teams.
- Skilled in delivering impactful presentations to senior management and stakeholders.
- University degree in a quantitative discipline, demonstrating capabilities in critical thinking, data analytics, and financial modeling.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in leading high-performing analytical teams.
- Familiarity with adaptive control software and credit scoring technologies.
- Proficient in both business and technical environments.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in a similar role.
