Senior Manager of Corporate Strategy

Position OverviewCANDIDATE MUST HAVE THE LEGAL ABILITY TO WORK IN CANADA
This Senior Manager of Corporate Strategy will be an integral member of the Segment Strategy team, reporting directly to the Director of Segment Strategy. The role focuses on generating shareholder value by engaging in critical strategic initiatives across the Segment. This position is primarily remote and necessitates occasional travel to client locations.
Key ResponsibilitiesIn this pivotal role, the Senior Manager will assist the Segment in formulating strategies that promote above-market organic and inorganic growth. This includes managing projects aimed at identifying new growth platforms and opportunities in appealing market segments, while closely collaborating with Management to prioritize cross-functional engagement and real-time insights as the external landscape evolves. The primary responsibilities encompass four main areas: Strategy Planning & Monitoring, Market/Competitive Analysis, Growth Strategy (both organic and inorganic), and Talent Development. These responsibilities include:
- Steering the Segment on its strategic choices to enhance growth, boost profitability, and maintain competitive advantage on both global and regional scales.
- Leading cross-functional teams in addressing business challenges through a hands-on, hypothesis-driven methodology:
- Taking the lead on complex workstreams while providing strategic guidance and practical support.
- Mentoring and coaching project team members in applying a hypothesis-driven approach.
- Overseeing projects and crafting deliverables and executive presentations.
- Framing discussions around findings and recommendations.
- Evaluating organic and inorganic opportunities across multiple dimensions.
- Supporting the strategic planning process and enhancing strategic capabilities within the organization:
- Driving change by designing and executing projects aligned with strategic objectives.
- Ensuring that business strategies clearly define choices, articulate talent and resource needs.
- Monitoring the execution of long-term strategies through selected KPIs, synthesizing implications for the strategic plan, and suggesting potential adjustments.
- Actively nurturing talent by providing coaching and feedback to junior team members.
- Anticipating market shifts and evaluating their strategic and economic implications both currently and in the next 5-10 years.
- Advising senior leadership on selecting the most promising opportunities and acquisition targets to enhance product offerings and market capabilities.
Success in this role necessitates strong business acumen and a strategic mindset, exceptional communication and presentation skills, the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at various organizational levels, as well as the capability to manage teams and lead projects from inception to completion. A demonstrated ability to achieve results through influence and enthusiasm is essential.
Professional Experience- A minimum of 3 years of management consulting experience following a graduate degree.
- At least 2 years of experience in corporate strategy within an industrial context, particularly in the automotive sector (OEMs, Tier 1 or Tier 2 suppliers).
- Proven experience in engaging with executives and C-suite through effective communication of strategies and plans.
- A track record demonstrating leadership potential in a business environment.
- A sense of discretion, confidentiality, and maturity.
- Undergraduate and graduate degrees.
- An engineering degree is highly desirable.
- An MBA is highly valuable.
Compensation
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: CAD150,000 - CAD 200,000 (subject to change based on location)
• Salary ranges are provided in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges based on the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity considerations.
