Position Title: Director of Care – Permanent, Full-time

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the execution and assessment of nursing department strategies and operations.
- Lead the coordination and application of best practices and risk management strategies pertaining to resident care.
- Manage the utilization of nursing resources efficiently.
- Ensure a comprehensive system for care assessment, planning, execution, and evaluation at both the resident and unit program levels.
- Actively mentor staff while supervising the delivery of high-quality resident care.
- Initiate investigative and corrective measures related to occupational health and safety; collaborate on WSIB claims and return-to-work initiatives.
- Participate in special projects, reviews, and other strategic initiatives.
- Assume full responsibility for the nursing department's operations.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse.
- A compassionate heart and a genuine passion for caring for seniors.
- Proven experience in WSIB management and other aspects of Occupational Health and Safety.
- Familiarity with falls and harm reduction strategies is advantageous.
- Previous experience in long-term care is beneficial, with a thorough understanding of relevant duties.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong comprehension abilities.
- Developed creative problem-solving skills to view challenges from a broader perspective.
