Position Overview: Continuous Improvement Engineer

We are currently seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our team in the role of Continuous Improvement Engineer. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organizational skills and will be responsible for a variety of key functions, including:

  • Overseeing and coordinating the continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives within the Assembly and Molding Departments.
  • Managing the Cost Reduction Plan (CRP) projects from inception to completion, focusing on process enhancements and lean methodologies while aiming to reduce costs.
  • Coordinating reviews and workstation setup development for Assembly, optimizing machine and press cycle times according to budget, and continuously seeking improvement opportunities through a cross-functional team approach.
  • Maintaining a strong emphasis on safety and ergonomics, ensuring ongoing improvements are achieved.
  • Analyzing and recommending strategies to enhance Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Identifying and implementing new technologies and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supporting the Quality department as needed with customer concerns and corrective actions.
  • Developing plans for the efficient utilization of materials, equipment, and personnel, including the creation and facilitation of necessary training.
  • Fostering a collaborative team environment by utilizing cross-functional teams during planning and implementation reviews, engaging all levels of employees.
  • Serving as a role model for professionalism and timely decision-making.
  • Ensuring awareness and understanding of ISO and IATF standards, as well as company policies and procedures among all employees.
  • Promoting a safe and clean work environment in compliance with local, provincial, and federal health and safety regulations.
  • Assisting colleagues to promote a successful operation with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Industrial and/or Mechanical Engineering or a College Diploma in Industrial and/or Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Automotive Management or a related field, demonstrating leadership capabilities.
  • At least 7-10 years of experience in the Plastics and/or Automotive Industry or a comparable field.
