Job Description

Waterford Executive is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing manufacturing processes that meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process Design and Implementation: Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
  • Automation and Efficiency: Design, build, and implement automation to improve production efficiency and quality, and identify and implement cost reduction opportunities to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Work closely with the quality assurance team to ensure that manufacturing processes meet industry standards and product specifications, and develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, such as process flow charts, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Equipment Selection and Maintenance: Make technical decisions regarding the purchase of new manufacturing equipment, and coordinate maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Continuous Improvement: Apply lean manufacturing and six sigma principles to eliminate waste, improve processes, and reduce variability in production.
  • Collaboration and Support: Work with product development engineers to integrate new products into the manufacturing process, and provide technical support and training to production staff.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of proven shop floor/plant floor manufacturing engineering experience from within the automotive industry.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and technology.
  • Experience with CAD software and proficiency in designing manufacturing layouts.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support manufacturing operations at other sites or to evaluate new technologies and equipment.
