Position Overview

Waterford Executive is seeking a skilled Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer for a prominent client in the automotive sector, specializing in the production of components and assemblies for various industrial applications. This role involves the design and execution of manufacturing processes, along with the development of process layouts for the production facility.

Core Responsibilities:
  1. Process Development and Execution: Innovate, assess, and enhance manufacturing techniques by leveraging expertise in product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment capabilities, assembly techniques, and quality assurance standards.
  2. Automation Solutions: Create, construct, and deploy automation systems aimed at boosting production efficiency and product quality.
  3. Cost Efficiency and Operational Enhancement: Recognize and implement strategies for cost reduction while planning and executing initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
  4. Quality Control: Collaborate closely with the quality assurance team to guarantee that manufacturing processes adhere to industry benchmarks and product specifications.
  5. Equipment Acquisition and Upkeep: Make informed decisions regarding the procurement of new manufacturing machinery. Oversee the maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime.
  6. Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Employ lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to eradicate waste, refine processes, and diminish variability in production.
  7. Documentation and Regulatory Compliance: Generate and sustain manufacturing documentation, including process flow diagrams, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Ensure adherence to safety regulations and environmental standards.
  8. Team Collaboration and Support: Partner with product development engineers to seamlessly integrate new products into the manufacturing workflow. Provide technical assistance and training to production personnel.
Required Qualifications:
  1. A Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline is essential.
  2. A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience in manufacturing engineering within the automotive industry.
  3. Profound knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and technologies.
  4. Proficiency in CAD software and experience in designing manufacturing layouts.
  5. Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement frameworks.
  6. Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.
  8. Willingness to travel as necessary to support manufacturing operations or assess new technologies and equipment.

Note: Availability outside of standard working hours may be required to address urgent production challenges or meet project deadlines. This is a full-time position based in the manufacturing facility.
