MEDA Engineering and Technical Services, LLC is seeking a dedicated Afternoon Controls Engineering Technician to enhance our team and drive ongoing enhancements to manufacturing operations, ultimately improving product quality.

Afternoon Shift

This role is primarily responsible for the planning, development, and evaluation of new projects or processes. You will collaborate with various engineering departments from the initial project concept through to testing, ensuring successful implementation of production improvements.

Focus on IATF standards for quality enhancement through a strong commitment to excellence, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
Design specialized jigs and fixtures, and conduct engineering tests to support product innovation.
Utilize engineering software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and MasterCAM) and systems for engineering design and analysis.
Set up and operate conventional, special-purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines.
Monitor machine operations to identify malfunctions or deviations from specifications, adjusting machine controls or media as necessary.
Conduct trial runs to confirm the accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.

Ensure adherence to machine settings and programs during production in accordance with the Tool List and Cycle Time sheets.

Qualifications:
~ Technician Certificate or Mechanical Engineering Technician Diploma.
~ Certification as an Engineering Technologist (C. through Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians Technologists (OACETT) is preferred.
~ Minimum of 3 years of experience in PLC programming, including modification and editing using Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000.
~ Experience in Project Management.
~ At least three (3) years of experience in automotive manufacturing.
~ Familiarity with electrical equipment.
~ Knowledge of plant safety protocols.
~ Support for production processes.
~ Management of Non-Conforming Product/tagging.
~ Understanding of Plant KPI's.
~ Proficiency in problem-solving tools and techniques.
