Position Overview

MEDA Engineering and Technical Services, LLC is seeking a dedicated Afternoon Controls Engineering Technician to enhance our manufacturing operations and contribute to the continuous improvement of product quality.

Shift Details:

  • Afternoon Shift

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, development, and evaluation of innovative projects or processes, collaborating with various engineering teams from inception through testing to implement enhancements in production efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to IATF standards for quality enhancement, emphasizing a commitment to excellence, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
  • Design and create specialized jigs and fixtures, conducting engineering tests to support product innovation.
  • Utilize engineering software tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and MasterCAM for design and analytical purposes.
  • Investigate and resolve issues related to machine design, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.
  • Set up and operate a variety of machines, including conventional, special-purpose, and numerical control (NC) systems.
  • Monitor machine operations to identify malfunctions or deviations from specifications, making necessary adjustments to controls.
  • Verify that finished products meet specifications using precision measurement tools.
  • Conduct trial runs to confirm the accuracy of machine settings or programmed data.
  • Perform and document studies on machine tool capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with machine settings and programs during production according to established guidelines.
  • Work in accordance with TS 16949/IATF Procedures and Systems.
  • Serve as an IATF Internal Auditor.

Qualifications:

  • Technician Certificate or Mechanical Engineering Technician Diploma.
  • Certification as an Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) through the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians Technologists (OACETT) is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in PLC programming, specifically with Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000.
  • Experience with Atlas Copco PF 6000 (automated fastening systems).
  • Project management experience is beneficial.
  • Three years of experience in the automotive manufacturing sector.
  • Familiarity with electrical equipment and plant safety protocols.
  • Support for production processes and teamwork.
  • Ability to manage Non-Conforming Products and tagging processes.
  • Understanding of Plant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Proficient in problem-solving methodologies.
